@Daz555 having a great car does not mean you are responsible for these stats. We saw that anyone who can drive a car could outpace everybody on the track last week. I don't care if he has thousands of wins and ten thousands of poles and hundreds of thousands of fastest laps and millions of World Championships, if you just whine and cry about everything about a great car but a rookie driver won't; you are not a real race driver. Just a lucky boy who has an opportunity to having a great car. I saw hundreds of drivers in this sport and almost none of them were whiney like this kid. He always cries about non-existent problems about the car, about other drivers, about tracks, about the weather, about everything.... Even Alonso wasn't whining about the car when he was in McLaren... Stop defending lucky whiners, but talents...fanboys...
So if we notice (at 2:09 taken as reference) we can see the following groups: Hamilton,Bottas,Verstappen together, then Gasly and Leclerc, and Ocon & Stroll, Kvyat and Vettel and Perez and Sainz. Daniel, Lando and the Haas and Alfa Romeo drivers are standing alone. Initially Hamilton was chatting with Seb and Checo with Ocon & Stroll; and Lando with Sainz and Perez. The Williams drivers and Alex join much later... Quite interesting to sort them into groups
On the other hand I can't think of another sport where 3+ positions are recognized like F1, and every so often conditions allow midfield or even slower teams to make it to the podium, so not bad, love the competition.
Other sports except racing your ability to win is on the athlete, talent+determination and effort, here is 60% car 40% driver...GR almost proved Max's point that most drivers on the grid can win on a Mercedez
Not really they're elite drivers on top of their game, most sports are like this, Tennis, football etc. Most teams/atheltes don't have chance at winning but they still turn up cause its their job & life
no it’s always a infinitesimal chance that you will win, look at Gasly this year, had a infinitesimal chance just like everyone else in the slower cars and he won.
